Whoops...

Well, I really did mean to keep up with things here, but that didn't happen! I have certainly been busy crafting, and I even finished that Lopi for my husband (though it deserves its own post with much better pictures than I have managed to take so far), I just didn't seem to get around to sharing things here. But all of that is about to change!

I spent some time last fall/early winter making a collection of presents for my wonderful friend, Jenni, as she is getting married this summer. I knew I wanted to make her a quilt, but then I also decided I needed to challenge myself to use all of the scraps to make more presents as well because obviously presents should be all matchy matchy. I happily succeeded in that endeavor and made a tote (with a pocket), a zipper pouch, and coasters. 😊

This was my second quilt, and I used the same pattern as the first (the Cozy Throw Quilt) but I added two more rows to the length because my first one just felt a little bit tiny. The second time around went a bit better, and I'm starting to learn where I'm going wrong which is always helpful, but overall I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out.

I even embroidered their initials on one of the stripes.

I really liked how the tote and zipper pouch came out, and had that moment of thinking "should I just keep this?" but luckily I came to my senses and included it in the gifts.

The coasters were a last minute decision because I had just a bit more left in the scrap pile.

I also found some awesome cloud print fabric that reminded me of Jenni's college sheets, so clearly I needed to buy that and make something else. What could be better than a bag for some homemade beauty products? Nothing I decided, so that's what I made, along with a gentle face scrub, toner, and intensive face lotion.

I also made a scarf and mittens but I was so excited about finishing everything up that I forgot to take pictures of those. 😥
